Valentin Sevéus, the founder of the PeaceQuest-movement, has just published a new book, A Borderless future world Peace prize winners, peace writers and Fataneh. Fataneh Nik-khakian is the current president of PeaceQuest International. Read Valentins fascinating story about the book.
While I am currently completing a borderless future of the world, the Norwegian Nobel Committee surprises the world with the 2009 Peace Prize to Barack Obama. I've just gone through a variety of information about Peace Laureates 1901-2008 and therefore knows that Obama is far from the first U.S. president to receive this coveted and prestigious prize. In connection with my writing, I have also read Nobel's will and Bertha von Suttner's famous anti-militarist novel Down with weapons! and I've been thinking about the role of the Austrian Baroness Bertha may have had for Nobel's decision to also award a Peace Prize. I think this was not a matter of course for him before Bertha had a say .. Over the years I have met many peace promoters of different kinds. One of my absolute favorites is Fataneh from Tehran and Stockholm. We must rise to this strong-willed person to really feel the joie de vivre she exudes. Fataneh has in this text become a representative of the thousands of lesser and greater peace groups who not only dream of a borderless future of the world but also for the time and ability committed to such a Fatanehs career in the peace movement has just begun. She is active in the association Peace Quest International, the Swedish Peace Council and the singing peace group Vox Pacis. Take the chance and get to know Fataneh, maybe she will be receiving the Nobel Peace Prize a beautiful December day in the future! In any event, I know that she should think carefully about how the prize money could make the best strategic advantage in the vital work of transforming the culture of violence that characterizes our time to a future of peace culture. I hope that Barack Obama carefully thinking over that very thing, both in his private prize money and the allocation of grants from the U.S. government budget in the coming years.
